Pours an odd color - it's pretty much pinkish light brown. Dirty white bubbly head that lasts quite a while until.forming an eighth of an inch layer.
You can smell watermelon, slight sweetness, and just a little bit of lime. There's a slightly stronger liquor smell from the tequila. Sweet melon and faint bubblegum - prickly pear. As with all the Speakeasy series, it does pay homage to the cocktail.
The taste follows right in step with the smell. It's definitely sweet from the watermelon, prickly pear, and simple syrup but there's enough of the base gose to hold it in check...barely. The lime shows up late and further counters the sweetness with some acidity as well as the lime flavor. There's a candy or bubblegum aromatic that comes out just a little. As you drink more, there's a little build of saltiness. In my opinion, it could use more of a kick from the tequila - it's there, but in the background.
Feel is a bit on the sticky side - not cloying but you know you've had some sweet stuff. Definitely one to keep ice cold.
Overall it's pretty good - fun flavors and the lime doesn't dominate. It's a bit Jolly Rancher-ish, maybe.
