I am sampling a cellar temp 250 ml bottle poured into my snifter. Bottled on 04/23/2024. Aged in maple syrup barrels for 26 months and 22 days (!!)
The beer pours a rich deep mahogany color with fluffy khaki colored head of 1 cm. this foam fades to a thin edging soon after the pour. Very minimal scattered lacing on each sip or swirl.
Aroma is toffee and a very good dose of maple syrup with a hit of peppery booze. Not really any hop character at all on the aroma. Smells sweet, malty and mapley, sort of like I expected.
First sip reveals a medium body with very smooth texture and gentle spacious carbonation. There is a bit of a sticky coating on my lips and palate after each sip.
Flavor is sweet right off the bat! Brown sugar and maple syrup battle for dominance, but the maple wins. No hop character and the booze is well hidden. This is for sure a sweet beer but I dont find it cloying or undrinkable, some might however. but if you like maple syrup and strong beers that dont taste strong this one could be for you.

This one pours a dark-ish brown color, with a small head, and not much lacing.
This smells, well, like maple, with tobacco, caramel, and oak.
As Barreled Souls beers go, this is pretty sweet, but it’s definitely not overwhelming. There’s a nice spicy, oaky, and leathery barrel character, with a nice pleasant and decadent maple sweetness. The other variants in this set are definitely more complex, but this is undeniably delicious.
This is lightly carbonated, and somewhat silky, with very little booziness.
I love maple, almost always, so this was gonna be a win no matter what.
