On tap at Barreled Souls Brewing Company in Saco, ME.
This one pours a fairly dark black color, with a small head, and not much lacing.
This smells like dark chocolate, roasted malt, cookie dough, cinnamon, and coffee.
This doesn’t have a ton of barrel character for it being barrel aged for just over a year in Willett barrels. I also don’t really get any benefit from the fact there’s bacon in this – it doesn’t add any flavor that I can discern. I otherwise just get a decent little coffee beer with a slight dusting of cinnamon, and lots of chocolate.
This is medium bodied, and slightly thin.
This wasn’t the most impressive beer I’ve had from Barreled Souls – not bad, by any means, but just forgettable.
