English Barleywine/Old Ale Aged for 12 months and 29 days in a Red Wine finished Bardstown Bourbon barrels.
This year’s version was aged in Bardstown red wine-finished bourbon barrels. The barrel started out holding red wine, then was used for bourbon, and now has held this batch of Wisdom for a year. Soon, it will be off to the next leg of its journey to become furniture. What an adventure!

Burnt brown sugar and toffee, Raisin Bran Cereal malty, a hint of all-spice, a hint of red wine grapes, and a bourbon barrel nose on this one! Taste follows with a smooth and balanced, toffee bits and dark fruity, red wine fruity, bourbon barrel finish. Yum! This is well done and extremely balanced between the red wine, bourbon, and toffee notes...an enjoyable and easy-drinking sipper!
