Frank August Case Study #2 Barrel-aged English Barleywine.
Bottle Society Barrel Project 2023 bottled on 1/23/2025.

- Filled in 1992 with VO Pedro Jimenez Sherry for 17 years
- After this, immediately filled with XO Pedro Jimenez Sherry from 1948 for 13 years.
- Held sherry for 30 years total before use to finish bourbon.
- the barrel is practically black from age, minus the new barrel heads.

Private barrel! Sweet Dulce de Leche malty, dark sherry wine grapes, raisins and figs, slightly vinous, and a oak barrel bourbon boozy nose on this one! Taste follows exactly with a sweet, but balanced, caramel and sherry wine finish. Such an easy drinking, thoroughly enjoyable barleywine! Nitpicking a little here but it could be a touch more viscous on the palate...but with the sherry wine vibes present, the thinner mouthfeel actually feels appropriate! Almost elegant! This is absolutely delicious and I am so glad I was able to participate in this private barrel!
