15yr Dickel Bourbon BA Bombs Over Barley (2024)

This one pours a dark brown-ish, almost black color, with a small head, and lots of lacing.

This smells like tobacco, chocolate, caramel, toffee, maple, and bourbon.

The Bombs over Barley series is just generally so good, and this is no exception. This has a burly and strong barrel character to it – tobacco, spicy oak, some vanilla, and a touch of heat, with a nice caramelly, chocolatey, and very densely malty backbone. There’s also a touch of dark fruit, maple, and toffee, too.

This is medium bodied, with a touch of boozy heat, but it’s warming and pleasant.

I haven’t had a bad variant in this series yet – I might never do.

Sweet caramel and butterscotch malty, raisins and figs, and an all-spice, vanilla-bourbon barrel nose on this one! Taste follows with some caramel drizzled raisins upfront...and then a smooth, bourbon barrel boozy finish. This is outstanding Lyfe! It just needed to be a little heavier/more viscous on the palate to fully bring out all of the nuances of the fantastic Bombs Over Barley barleywine base.
