This one pours a dark-ish brown, almost black, with a small head, and not much lacing.
This smells like bittersweet caramel, dark chocolate, rye spice, vinous dark fruit notes, brandy, oak, peanut brittle, toffee, and brown sugar.
There’s a lot going on with this one – it’s an excellent blend. There’s a wonderfully mélange of interesting oak character here – spicy, herbal, and charred. There’s some definite chocolately notes, spicy caramel, brown sugar, tobacco, roast, vinous red wine like notes, etc. I also do seemingly get a nice herbal sort of flavor that might be coming from the 1/5 of this that was aged in a gin finished bourbon barrel.
This is medium bodied, rich, not too boozy, and really smooth and velvety.
This is a complicated and ultimately extremely delicious blend of barleywines.

Sweet caramel malty, raisin bran cereal, plums and sweet dark red fruits, and a brown liquor/hint of gin barrel nose on this one! Great nose! Taste follows pretty closely with a more pronounced rye-spicy and a rum barrel boozy finish. Fantastic blend!
