This member-only anniversary beer is inspired by Eleven's love of Eggo waffles. We wanted to bring that flavor to a barleywine, so we took a slightly sweet barleywine base and added Eggo waffles, maple syrup, and vanilla.

Poured at fridge temp from a bottle. Pours a nice dark brown with an abundance of carbonation. Tons of bubbles through after the inch of head dissipated. The head dissipates really quickly with some of their beers, giving the impression of a fizzy soda almost. I have found that this sometimes indicates a sweeter beer, and seems common for their non-BA stuff.

The nose is toffee, maple syrup, brown sugar, plums, malts, chocolate. Really smooth and inviting.

The taste is initially a tad harsh compared to the nose. I think the maple syrup does this sometimes. Adds an extra bitterness (which seems odd since it's sweet). It gets smoother as it warms, or perhaps as I take more sips. I'm getting notes of toffee, stone fruit, a slight nuttiness, maple syrup, and brown sugar. It's a bit on the sweet side, but doesn't reach too high of a level.

The mouthfeel is medium bodied, with a sweet toffee and maple aftertaste. Overall, this is an enjoyable barleywine, but a slightly smaller bottle would have been fine.

Sampling a cellar temp 500 ml bottle poured into my snifter. Bottled on 07/07/2025. Picked up at the brewery over the summer and has been in my cellar since then.
The beer pours a very dark mahogany with some ruby highlights when held to a light source. A short lived fizzy beige head foams up about 1 cm and fades to nothing within a few minutes.
Aroma is on sweeter side with some sweet bready waffle and a bit of maple syrup, maybe a little brown sugar too. No hops appear on the nose of this beer and there isnt boozy notes of black pepper or fusol notes. Sort of smells like I would expect.
First sip reveals a medium body with smoother texture than I thought and not really sticky. Carbonation is very fine and fairly soft also.
Flavor is also sweeter with maple and brown sugar mixing with some sweet bread or waffle. Again no hops present, but I do get a bit of bitey booze on the finish. No accompanying warming though. Sweetness lingers much more than the booze, but the beer isnt like a candy or cloying, just sweet like syrup.
I enjoy this one, but definitely dont need a second one after finishing my glass.
