A double barrel-aged English Barleywine aged for a total of 25 months and 15 days in Henry McKenna 10 year bourbon and then Barton 1792 bourbon barrels, giving it a wonderful figgy flavor with bourbon, vanilla, oak, and toffee.

Poured at fridge temp. Pours a dark brown with minimal head. The nose is super bourbon forward. Toffee, booze, vanilla, slight sherry note, raspberry, brown sugar, raisins, figs.

The taste nicely follows the nose. Fantastic stuff. Sweet bourbon, raisins, sticky toffee pudding, figs, plums, vanilla, maple, caramelized sugar, molasses, and loads of malts. Just amazing stuff.

The mouthfeel is medium bodied with a sweet bourbon and toffee aftertaste.

This is my favorite series that Barreled Souls does still. I am very excited for it.

This one pours a golden brown-ish color, with a small head, and not much lacing.

This smells just super sticky and malty, with raisons, Fig newtons, brown sugar, caramel, Crème brulee, vanilla, and maple.

There’s just a whole lot of barrel here, it was in barrels for over two years. Some vanilla, and lots of oak, and that sort of torched carame/Crème brulee thing I get with a lot of bourbon barrel aged barleywines. There’s the usual sticky sweet dark fruit notes from Wisdom, and lots of brown sugar, too.

This is medium bodied, and not even a little bit boozy tasting, despite the higher ABV.

These are just as good as it gets for barrel aged beers, just exceptional.

330ml waxed and capped bottle into a teku.

Pours an opaque mahogany. Slick, thick legs, no head with some spots of carbonation. Nose is rich, aromatic, sweet, and a touch savory. Molasses, oak, tobacco, raisin, dark chocolate, and prunes. Sticky. Beer opens dark fruit, molasses, and oak. Brown sugar, booze, and green raisin. Caramel and toffee at the finish. Body is full with low carbonation. Smooth and velvety on the palate. Chewy finish. Lingers on the palate.

Excellent..just a touch on the sweet side.

Sweet molasses and brown sugar, dark fruity raisins and figs, and a pronounced, oak-barrel and bourbon boozy nose on this one! Taste follows exactly with a caramelized brown sugar, bourbon barrel finish. This one is not as smooth and nuanced as the 2023 version....and I guess we can attribute that not using a rum-finished bourbon barrel this time around. It also doesn't hide the ABV as well as the 18.2% ABV behemoth from 2023. That being said, this is still an outstanding barleywine!
