This one pours a very dark black color, with a small head, and not much lacing.
There’s lot of vanilla on the nose, in a good way, with toasted marshmallow, milk chocolate, oak, and leather.
The heavy vanilla dose sorts of smooths out some of the more artificially sweet notes that marshmallow can do in Stay Puft, and makes this oddly more authentic tasting, even though it’s still quite sweet and dessert-like. The vanilla has that classic floral sweetness, but also sort of gives a chocolate-covered cherry vibe when paired against the base stout. There’s a lot of nice barrel characteristics – caramel, oak, and some leather. The whole thing kind of gives an unexpected but delicious cherry cordial vibe.
This is medium bodied, creamy, and silky, with a nice drinkability, and very little booziness.
This is one of the best Stay Pufts that I’ve had, outside of double barrel - it’s the best. It is truly delicious.
