I both love and shake my head at the fact that this is available in magnum form. Ridiculous.
This one pours a fairly dark black color, with a very small head, and a little bit of lacing.
This smell like dark honey, maple syrup, chocolate, caramel, bourbon, and molasses.
This is one of the best versions of Wisdom that I’ve ever had – just stupid good. The pronounced honey and maple notes are dynamite – it’s unclear if they’re from the base, from the barrel, or just a wonderful amalgamation of both. There’s caramel, oaky spice, leathery bourbon, some chocolate, and dark fruit, too.
This is medium bodied, very creamy, with absolutely zero hint of the elevated ABV.
Wisdom is their best series of beers, and this is a really great blend of it. A magnum is truly too much of this strong of a beer, but opening with like 20 people was the right move.
