This one pours a very dark black color, with a small head, and a little bit of lacing.

This smells super chocolatey, with some dried black cherry notes, cakey vanilla, and oak.

This has a really excellent vanilla character to it, not too overwhelming or sludgy, but definitely cakey and definitely a pastry stout. There’s a lot of oak and bourbon too, and with the super fudgy base stout, everything comes together really well.

This is medium bodied, creamy, rich, and decadent tasting, with not much booziness to it.

Pastry stout is not what Barreled Souls does best – it’s unadulterated BA stouts and barleywines – but this was still quite, quite good.

Poured at fridge temp. Pours a thick black with a bit of brown head. The nose is brown sugar, molasses, tons of vanilla, marshmallow, and a solid amount of milk chocolate.

The taste is fantastic. The bourbon really comes through here. Loads of vanilla, toffee, chocolate, brown sugar, some roasted malts, a touch of cinnamon, and some black licorice. Dark molasses as well.

The mouthfeel is fairly typical for Barreled Souls. Not super thick and creamy - they definitely make thinner stouts than some. The aftertaste is brown sugar, bourbon, and vanilla.
