I visited the brewery and was much impressed with the operation. I tasted a couple of brews and bought a growler of their red ale. The scent revealing a malty grain bill but not overpowering....it has a dry finish in the down draft. HOG

An interesting Red Ale. Good flavor and and the hop taste should make it an IPA. Nice amber color, smells flavorful. The taste has a nice strong hop flavor and feels somewhat creamy to the mouth. I had a taste of this beer shortly before the brewery was opened at the DeLand (FL) Beer Fest a couple of years ago. Still drink it occasionally at the brewery.

I have a few more obscure-to-me Florida brews to sample. This one is sure unique, and it proves that unique isn't necessarily a wonderful thing.
It has a dark color and a pancake head that settles in nicely. The aroma is very funky - boozy and fruity. The taste follows suit. Very malty, sweet, slightly sour too, and funky. There is a slight bitterness that rises at the end, almost redeeming it.
Let me check the can. Nope, no sign of the age. It's drinkable, but just too odd. I would avoid this one.

A. Pours a dark brown with fluffs of off white head that retains to a small cap around the glass.
S. Smells like weed -dank and resinous, fruity, butterscotch.
T. Hop forward with piney characteristics, malts come through but offset by an off medicinal flavour.
O. If not for the off flavour you have yourself a decent brew.
Notes. Enjoyed while on vacation in lovely Lake Mary Florida.

It's not a bad looking beer and the aroma is OK, but the flavor is lacking and there is a bit of metallic character in the mouthful that leaves a bad impression.

Fresh from brewery. Had again few years later in can. This time around it seemed different and in a bad way. No date on can but is most likely past it's prime. I'll leave my original rating since it was fresh and Extreamly good.

Poured a red body with two finger head and lace patches down glass.
A dry aroma that has some caramel malts but is more grainy and hoppy than sweet.
Taste is little more balanced than nose as you get the hops and dry malts, but there is a good amount of caramel malt sweetness in this beer as well.
Finishes crisp with a little citric hop bite and is an enjoyable red ale.
