We like the annual release of pumpkin beers and usually try 8 or 10. Our samples consist of old favorites and ones new to us. In 2014 our local Persimmon Hollow Sleepy Holler won hands down. We like the light on hops, heavy on pumpkin taste. We thought the spice profile was just right. Pretty good for a small brewery in our hometown! We looked forward with anticipation to the 2015 release and stayed in touch via the website. Four of us went down on release night, growlers in tow. Well, it was quite a letdown as the 2015 release seemed liked a different brew to us. We thought it been mightily hopped up and the pumpkin flavor was hard to detect. I don't know all the fancy words and descriptions to use but we did not enjoy it much and we certainly did not fill our growlers. We just may have hoped too hard! I wrote my impressions to the brewer and received no response.
