Poured into a tall tulip, the appearance was a glossy pale yellow color with a semi-bubbly to foamy finger's worth of white head. Dissipated at a decent pace to leave some concave lace.
The aroma meshes a fine tuned sweet hay to grassy to lemongrassy to sweet grains all together very unexpectedly awesome.
The flavor leads with a dry grainy sweetness using the hay and grassy hop features to play nice with the lemongrass. Ever so slight touch of earthy spice here in the backbone. Mild dry hay to grassy and lemon aftertaste.
The mouthfeel was between light and medium bodied with a wonderful sessionability about it. Carbonation felt spot on and ABV felt appropriate. Dry hay to lemongrassy finish.
Overall, a fabulous table saison perfect for this time of year. I'd have this again and wouldn't mind with some Atlantic salmon! What an unexpectedly fabulous beer! Yes, I had low expectations for this beer but everything came together extremely well. This is Bent Hill? Whoah! Damn, guys!
