Poured into a Fremont small snifter. Pours pitch black with a thin khaki head that dissipates to patches with slight lacing. Aroma of semi-sweet dark toasted malt, milk chocolate, and vanilla. Flavor is dark toasted malt with light char, cocoa, vanilla, vague fruit note. Finishes with moderately charred toasted malt, vanilla and a slight tartness. Medium bodied with light creaminess. A somewhat different stout, with a mild, hard to identify fruit note that may be the almond; I did not identify a clear almond flavor. The char is light to moderate, vanilla and cocoa notes are nice. The body is somewhat thinner than I'd expect from an oatmeal stout. Alcohol is well hidden, but the flavor is not as intense as I'd expect from a big stout like this. Looks and tastes good, with well handled vanilla, which often takes over similar dark beers.

22oz bottle served in a big snifter. 02/21/17 is stamped on the next. Second anniversary is written on the label.
Pours black with a surprisingly large brwn head that fades moderately quickly to a fairly coarse moderately thin layer. Appears to be a medium quantity of carbonation. Smell is malty, a little cherry, coffee, lots of anise.
Taste is heavy chocolate, still a hint of that cherry. Super strong bitter finish, combination of roast/almost burnt malt and hops.
Mouthfeel is thick, gritty almost, chewy. Overall, it's good, but the cherry note doesn't seem to belong and seems to throw it off just a bit to me.
