A couple of pint cans picked up at The Cave in Kirkland, Washington.
Poured in to a nonic pint glass.
Look- Hazy, golden orange juice color, modest bright white colored head that recedes fairly quickly to a thin cap of foam. Light carbonation streaming as it sits.
Smell- Citrus (orange/tangerine and grapefruit), tropical fruit (pineapple and mango), some berries, bready malt, a bit of resinous pine and spicy/floral notes.
Taste- Follows the nose well, juicy orange, grapefruit and pineapple with a fairly bitter resinous pine bite in the finish.
Feel- Medium bodied, crisp and pretty well balanced. Moderate carbonation on the tongue.
O- Not very complex but a solid PacNW style IPA. Three Magnets has a tendency to be on the pricey side so I probably won't be getting this one again.

Hmmm. Very odd - sour and tart, overwhelming malt and not enough hops. This beer was probably too old - canned date was 12/18/18. Started off good, pours a slightly hazy yellow-orange color with some fluffy white head and spotty lingering lacing. Smells of some weaker pineapple, grapefruit, lemon and orange hops, as well as some weaker malt, vanilla, bread and floral hops. Taste mainly follows the nose, except the balance is all wrong. There's almost no hoppiness to be found - just some malt, tart fruit and mild background dankness. Reminded me a little of a sour beer. Mild, thin mouthfeel, quickly fading carbonation. I should look for a more fresh beer from this brewery to compare.

Some good decisions and execution, but hardly any Rye, not a standout in the end.

A nice solid IPA, perhaps a tad one-dimensional, but well balanced and tasty. Pretty to look at with a slightly hazy straw gold color and nice lacing, the aroma opens things up nicely with good crisp hoppiness and biscuity malts. The flavor is a touch heavy on the Simcoe for my taste, but still very pleasant. The rye only comes through a bit, but I like what it does. Very nice feel with more than average viscosity meeting and agreeing with the good levels of carbonation. Quite tasty.

Pours a slightly hazy deep rich amber with a thick eggshell head that is active and robust leaving moderate lacing.
Smell is soft melon and lime peel, some herbal notes and a general earthy vibe.
Taste is an earthy citrus that reminds me of and orange flavored potato in the best possible way. Caramel malt is vaguely present, earthy/herbal hop notes are there, sweet citrus peel is there, this is an incredibly refreshing departure from the flavor extremes so often in modern IPAs. Smooth and supremely balanced.
Mouthfeel is spot on, full bodied without getting sticky. Soft and juicy feel for sure.
Overall this is one of the best IPAs I've had in a while. Smooth and juicy with a wonderful blend of hop flavors, none of them popping out to the point that you say 'lemon peel!' or 'papaya!', but all working together to make a lovely balanced flavor that leaves me wanting many more. These guys are an underappreciated brewery in my experience, everything I've had has been solid to exceptional. This one is exceptional

16oz can
Pours a little over a finger of white head into my willi becher glass. Considering the heads I usually get with this glass, and the amount of bubbles coming up - retention was ok, not too great. Lasted a couple minutes, settled to a mere film after that. Body is an extremely dark burnt orange in color. Looks alright so far.
Nose is extremely dank, noticeable citrus & pine. Not very sweet smelling, though the level of dry hopping, and hop selection remind me of a hazy. Not picking up any rye, but when do I ever. Smells good so far, albeit standard this day and age.
Flavor is ok, heavy heavy citrus hits first and foremost, really hard to focus on anything else. Lots of lemon, some grapefruit. Not very sweet, not getting any rye. Pretty damn one dimensional here. Can’t say I’m surprised, pay too much attention to your dry hopping and nothing else, and this is what you get. This tastes fine, but nothing special.
Carbonation is medium-low, body is relatively light. Sweetness is pretty small, but a small dose is here. Bitterness is about medium as well. Mouthfeel over all is pretty decent.
The drinkability is good. While it’s nothing special flavor wise, it’s tasty enough, light, and it doesn’t have any off flavors.
The appearance turned out pretty good. Nice thick lacing all the way down the glass.
Overall a solid beer other than the completely one dimensional flavor.

Poured into a Seattle Beer Week pint glass. Pours a very hazy, opaque caramel amber with a fine, two finger white head with great retention and thick lacing. Aroma of of citrus and tropical fruit hops, orange and lemon, mango, passion fruit and a hint of pineapple; fairly typical hazy IPA profile. Flavor follows with citrus and tropical hops, lemon, yuzu, pineapple, passion fruit, a little grapefruit and mango. Nice mild burst of fruit esters and rye in the finish with satisfactory citrus hop bitterness. Medium bodied with light creaminess. Only a mild rye flavor, but it does make the fruity nature of this hazy a bit more complex and interesting. I liked this rye/hazy hybrid quite a bit, even if the rye element was a bit understated.
