Light yellow body; dense, slow-rising carbonation; clear; thick, sticky, sudsy white head, rocky and sculpted plus long lasting with spidery fingers of foam clinging to the glass. Nice aroma combination of green apple and floral notes; cumin and coriander. Nice flavors following along the lines of the smell; more muted in character, earthy; spicy bitterness; mild phenol presence; minimal smokiness. Medium body; smooth yet somewhat sticky; some dryness from the alcohol presence.
A smoked saison is not something one expects to cross paths with. The smoke is more noticeable in the flavor near shortly after the pour then kind of fades away later then seems to creep back into the picture as the beer warms. Overall, though, this is a thoroughly enjoyable saison with a a nice fruity, fall-like character.
Pouring temperature: 45 °F; canning info: unreadable

what can a mere mortal man even say about a beer like this?! its just so good, so different, so thoughtful, i will be buying all the beer i can find from three magnets from here on out, this has me more than sold! its a smoked saison type, but it could not be more delicate on the smoke, more soft, more on the very late and very back of the taste, the smoke is not at all what defines this one, its insanely complex for something so drinkable, and just a beer that i adored and drank way too fast, effervescent from the heady labeled can, and crisp even for a beer with smoked malt, peppery like rye, earthy like unmalted raw grain, and and dry as could possibly be imagined, the text on the label says it all there. the quality of this is through the roof, with some bitterness in the end from the smoke but nothing more than a fast hit of it. interesting malt blend, some obvious hops that contrast the yeast maturity with a cool freshness, and some refreshment that almost never occurs in a smoked beer. this is a tough one to really pin down, but its funky, rustic, clean, drinkable, complex, and challenging all at the same time. i have only had a few beers from these guys now, but each one has been a gem, and i am over the moon to continue to explore their stuff. this is so subtle on the smoke, but so layered, id punch a guy to drink another can of it...

This one was in it’s own category as a saison. It rang like a Belgian overall, had a darker honey coloring with a thick one-finger head. Mouthfeel was a tad heavier too than would expect for the ABV. The smell was mostly tart, and taste had fruit possibly faint unrippened mango with green apple (almost cidery) and a touch of something vegetal - I kept trying to pinpoint and best I came up with is green tomato. Not a disaster but not something I’d choose to return to.
