Poured from 16oz tall can into a tulip. Canned 6/4/19, which is still probably OK for a saison.

Appearance: hazy orange hue with just a dash of pink. Head is a thick finger of very frothy eggshell foam; an interesting looking beer.

Smell: the aroma has a very light funk and a very light fruitiness. It's kind of hard to describe; I wouldn't guess rhubarb right out of the gate. It works really well, though.

Taste: mild funk with just a dash of tartness from the rhubarb as well as the earthy, fruity character. I definitely get a rhubarb-y quality from the flavor, but it's not overdone. I think the rhubarb complements the style really well.

Mouthfeel: medium-light body but with a huge carbonation and big, mouth-filling creaminess. I dig it!

Overall: I was a bit trepidatious when I first got this can of beer, but it turns out to be a delightful treat. You gotta give it to Three Magnes -- they make good beer!

maybe this is the first of these that i havent loved, but maybe i still love it and its just that that other three magnets beers have positively changed my life. this is less compelling from a technical standpoint, just a saison, too clean on the yeast side to mean anything, and with a ton of the rhubarb, which is natural and good, but no doubt it comes at the expense of more yeast nuance and fermentation profile overall, good, funky, lemony, rustic, but too clean, without a wild element at all, some brett would go a long way here. the plus is that the rhubarb is uninterrupted by the usual suspects, not a whole lot of wheat or cool wild character at all. this is both excellent and lacking at the same time really. the rhubarb is fresh and tart and real, and i dont wish for anything there, but the yeast and the overall build is lacking something, and the beer on the whole just seems sort of lazy and underwhelming. really the first from these guys that has not blown my mind, or maybe rather the first time that i have noticed the ferment is real generic. i dont know, i was so stoked to drink this, and its just a beer. good rhubarb, but average saison...

They call this a "table beer." Handsome ruddy amber brew with plenty of foam in the snifter. Mild cereal taste with a touch of something fruity. Not really tart but there is a hint of acidity that goes well with the light Belgian flavor that does seem to be Saison yeast.

Mild fruity aroma. It's all quite sedate but quite flavorful for the low alcohol. Yeasty sediment in the last pour. From the 16 oz can purchased at Elizabeth Station in Bellingham.
