Our flagship beer is a Scottish-style ale using seven different malts, English hops, and Scottish ale yeast to create this traditional 80 Shilling Scottish Export Ale. A malt-driven beer with toasty hints of caramel and a slight sweetness on the finish. Perfect for any occasion or cuisine. Enjoy!

Oh wow another delicious red up in the PNW. Rich, malty, delicious. A bit too sweet and heavy but tasty stuff. Classic malt bill but not what the style should be.

Don't remember the can or the beer, must have had on tap somewhere. Gave a decent rating and seeing it is a Flagship beer it should have been quite good.

Handsome dark ruby color with long-lasting foam in the goblet. Fairly light in body, not overly sweet, with a lush and sudsy mouthfeel. Plelasant aroma of apple and roasted grain. Slight fruity taste to go with the roasted malt, but not a caramel taste. There is enough on the sharp side and some herbal notes. Refreshing and even watery in a nice way. Overall this is a very creditable brew in the Scottish style. From the 12 oz can purchased at the brewery tap. Dated 05/16/24.

draught
Creamy, ivory head. Medium orange, with a chestnut tint, for the look. Caramel tinged and spiced, medium toasted malt, for the aroma. Medium bodied, which is light for a Scottish wee heavy, but this is a Scottish red ale, so that's just fine. Moderate amount of medium toasted and caramelized malt, and a tiny woody bite, for the taste.

Draft at Lakeside Hideaway. Amber pour, ring of head. Aroma is malty, earthy, nutty. Taste brings notes of peat to the maltiness, not too bitter, not too sweet. Well balanced.

my first beer from these guys, fine sipper for a hangover, a rainy windy day, and a razor clam festival! its more than just a red, its a proper scottish type, nice complex malt base, some real character from the yeast which gives it away, and a lovely frothy sudsy texture that lets this last long on the palate, it evolves well during the journey, quite a lot less basic than anticipated from the basic name, i dig it (razor clam pun intended!). i think its wild this is so low alcohol, its real complex for that, and rather full feeling, nice. this has a deep mahogany hue, a nose of leather, fig, and baking bread, warming and cozy and sort of fitting a wintery feeling day really well. some up front malt sweetness in the flavor, raisin and toffee, but its drier and more on the earthy side later, a baked heartiness and warmth, and the yeast is really unifying, old worldy, done warm enough to put some real character into this, rather traditional overall but its kind of got its own vibe too, sneakily kind of nerdy and obviously quite thoughtful and intentional. we checked out their brewery later in the day and were pretty stoked across the board, neat little operation here deserving more hype than they seem to be getting in my opinion...

Had on tap. Reddish amber murky body, cream colored head fades slowly over time. Toffee/caramel sweetness right away in the nose, light dirt, and toast support. Taste has more defined earth compared to dirt, dark fruits also come to play. This is all done in a heavier but refined body, very smooth. Really enjoyed this, especially considering I tried on a whim

Unkown age can poured into a pint glass. The color is rich mahogany, with a fantastic 2 finger head and awesome soapy lacing. The nose is nutty metallic copper, strong well cooked malt, and some oatyness. The taste starts up front with some bitter malt, peat, grass, finishing with nutty wood character that lingers on the top of the palate. The mouthfeel is rather thin, but it finishes moderatley dry as expected.
This is a good Scottish ale, easy to drink for sure.

Look: Rich, opaque amber color with a vigorous head that recedes to a thin layer leaving good lacing
Aroma: Toffee, caramel, rich breadiness, a slight fruitiness throughout that to me, reminds me of almost a caramel apple, some figs. Smells great!
Taste: Follows the nose but this time, the caramel-fruitiness combo is up front, then floral and fruity hop notes, right before an onslaught of rich malt shows up to the party. Dark bread, toffee, and some earthy notes dominate the finish
Mouthfeel: Bold and deep but with good carbonation keeping the mouthfeel from leaning too heavy. For as rich as it is, finishes slightly dry and quaffable
Overall: This is tasty stuff! My first beer from this brewery and the description on the can says it’s their flagship ale. Well done, right up my alley and everything I hoped and expected it to be which prompted my purchase. If Scottish ales are your thing, give this one a try and you won’t be disappointed

22 oz bomber purchased from Lifesource Natural Grocer.
$4.99.
Pours a nice clear amber colour with a small light tan head.
Good malty, toffee, leafy tobacco and a touch of cherry cola. Nice.
Taste similar but sweeter..i can see this being a heavy or 70 schilling.
Nice smooth medium mouth feel.
Not a bad wee beer.

From a bomber. Beautiful red amber color. Very toasty, malty on the nose and taste. Mildly viscous feel. Moderately carbonated. Tasty and well done!

Bought at Warrenton Ore. Costco on recommendation of beer-centric employee I was lucky to bump into at the awesome beer section (local bombers abundant). Very easy drinking malty brew at only 4.8 ABV would make an ideal winter season session beer. Flavors are subdued, but right-on for a Scottish style ale. Letting it warm a bit really brings it out. Enjoyable, well-priced beer. Only knock is that the 22 oz bottle lacked any dating info.
