decent little pils here, not one of the standouts from our visit, but pretty well done overall and something you could easily make a day of, kind of serving as the beer flavored beer for that crowd i imagine, a nice crispness but not quite bone dry and a little less clean with the lagering than it could be. there is a lot of grain flavor to this, which combined with the back end hops, makes this kind of robust for the style and for being a crowd pleaser, but its well within reason and drinkability is not impacted. richer golden color, short white head but plenty of carbonation, obvious european character both from the malt and the yeast, but also some biscuit and toast vibes that make this a little deeper than is fully refreshing. the hops start with light grass and generic citrus but move to just bitter pretty fast, its balanced enough. some slightly weird notes as it warms, not soapy, not off in the ferment, just less crackling and crisp than i look for in the style most of the time, but on a chilly windy afternoon i dont mind the little extra this comes with, i didnt come in parched or anything. not one of the more memorable beers we had in here, but certainly nothing to turn the nose up at. i loved our time here and was impressed with the vast beer list they had for such a humble spot. super rad!
