On-tap at Clube do Malte, on to the beer:
Jan Kubis could be seen as Karel IV's smaller brother. This is an amber orange colored beer, topped with an inch of head which lasts for a very long time. It smells toasty, complemented with a note of caramel. And it tastes toasty as well. Along with the toasty character, the beer has a little sweetness. A little caramel, a metallic note, but the beer has balance. Jan Kubis is a respectable lager, even if Karel IV overshadows it.

Amber color with a thick two fingers head with good retention.
Light aroma with notes of hay, papaya, mango and lager yeast. The dry-hop type of intensity vanishes quickly.
Bitter flavor with notes of papaya, spicy hops, tobacco, caramel, guaranĂ¡ soda, tea bags, faint kiwi and tangerine peel fruitiness (I got that on an IPL I had earlier) and bread. Dry aftertaste with a bitterness that peaks and fades away.
Light body with appropriate carbonation. This is bordering watery and sure could be enhanced.
Don't expect an APA, which it isn't, as it says. This is a light hoppy clear tastier lager with a tobacco-herbal and "fake" fruitiness highlight. Fine, not great and still quite not there.
