473 mL can from the LCBO; dated Dec 31 2021 and served slightly chilled.
Pours a clear golden orange colour, generating an inch of smooth, fluffy, foamy white head that withers within five minutes, give or take. A beautiful curtain of thick lace is deposited behind it; its other remnants include a creamy-looking collar and sudsy cap - a visually stunning beer. The aroma is generally subdued, offering up earthy, resinous hops, grapefruit, maybe a touch of lemon and canned peaches, as well as some breadiness from the malts.
Its flavours follow the nose - caramelized malts, peaches, orange and pineapple, overlapping with lightly caramelized sugars and bready malts. Piney hops begin to dominate the back end - earthy, pithy, resinous flavours, with firm bitterness leading into an earthy, slightly citrusy aftertaste. Not quite 'boozy', but just a little warming - seems about right for its strength. Full-bodied, with mild carbonation that gently prickles the surface of the palate; feels smooth, with a generous mouthfeel that practically begs you to take another sip. Super easy to toss back, at least for a DIPA.
Final Grade: 3.9, a solid B+. Double IPA is one of the better brews in the Woodhouse portfolio - similar to, but better than their standard IPA, this is something I could definitely see myself purchasing in the future when I'm in the mood for a west coast IPA. No, it's not an exciting or novel take on the style, but it gets the job done while retaining some semblance of balance - not to mention superb drinkability. Give it a try and see how you like it.

Pours burnt orange with a frothy off white head that drapes the glass in foam. The aroma is of lemon, grapefruit, pine, mango, apricot, caramel, toast. Citrus and tropical hops tempered by robust bready, grainy malts in the taste. Full bodied mouthfeel with light carbonation. Medium bitterness and maltiness in the the finish.
Quite a restrained DIPA with plenty of malt presence. It's like an old school DIPA from 2009. Worth a try.

473 ml can for around $4 CDN. Served cold in a weizen glass.
Appearance - Hazy, coppery orange colour with a big two finger head. Loads of sticky lacing clings to the glass, and sufficient carbonation in the glass.
Smell - Fairly piney and resinous with hints of melon and a slight bit of gym socks. Subdued notes overall.
Taste - Fairly tropical initially with some grapefruit and candied pineapple, then finishes more piney and dank and resinous like a true west coast IPA.
Mouthfeel - Full bodied and sticky, some prickly carbonation and semi dry finish.
Overall - Good but not quite great IPA. Nothing unusual or with any standout performances other than it's more of a west coast brew which is less common. Reasonably well done, just wish the nose was bigger.
