a well made american pale ale with galaxy hops, perhaps my favorite of the beers we had here at modern, but all of their hoppy stuff was tasty! this is a nice way to feature these hops, pretty sturdy as the pales go, dry on the malt side but not flavorless, and bittered as well as it is dry hopped, really showing the versatility of the galaxy in a way we dont usually see. it has a piney element i am not used to in galaxy alone either, but still with a pretty classic southern hemisphere tropical fruitiness, just a little more intense than it often comes through. there is a lot of body here, and with the grain being fairly forward, it comes across as a pretty robust beer, yet very well rounded. i really like the galaxy hops with the bitterness, it always seems to be one way or the other, but we get the juicy here too. nice carbonation, dry by the end, and drinkability despite being somewhat more substantial than the dry hopped pales that are in vogue right now. i liked this one a lot, and if you are into galaxy, this is well worth seeking out.
