16 oz can, into wide mouthed glass. I purchased this on their drop day in St. Louis - so while there's no date, I know it's still fresh.
Pale juice in the glass with a spit toothpaste head of 1 finger, leaving a solid sheet of lace where it was, all around the glass.
Aroma is a lovely mix of pine/spruce/mint, mango, pineapple, and orange juice.
Flavor brings an unfavorable dry grassy bitterness, which falls to pineapple juice, orange pith, and squishy moldy mango. The dry grass makes a return along with slight mint and dark fruit. It's a curious hop. I'm not a fan of what's going on here personally.
Feel is alright though, it's juicy, acidic, crisp, almost no alcohol heat, with lingering acidity and resins. A-OK.
Overall, not digging this single Riwaka hop. Probably not a fault of the brewery, just the nature of the beast. Seems like it would work well in conjunction with other popular hops, but this is probably not going to get finished.
Price paid : $3.99 / can
