Yellow in color with a very hazy complexion. There’s a fingernail of dishwater white on top. Heavy, soapy lacing on the glass. The aroma is of citrus and lime. I’m tasting lime, pineapple, and citrus. The mouth is smooth and highly quaffable for the ABV.

Pours a glowing, dark-ish orange with an opaque translucency. Head is a couple fingers of white foam with great retention. Aroma is strong and potent tangerine, grapefruit, and mango with slivers of orange slices and a little hit of dank at the back. Big tropical fruit, and while sugary sweet, it's not super juicy, landing somewhere in the upper third of non-juicy to very juicy spectrum. Flavor profile is ripping tangerine, mango, grapefruit, and papaya with a little squeeze of orange. Big time tropical fruits with a little gritty green underneath. Mouth feel is medium in thickness. Texture has a sharp, at least initially, effervescence. Texture softens quickly, though not completely. Overall, a sharp, potent NE IPA option.

Served in a 15.5oz Spiegelau tulip from a 16oz can.

Wow, was this a fantastic drinking experience, starting with a beautiful appearance - hazy gold with a wonderful long-lasting head than begged to be photographed. The aroma was just a bit masked by all that foam at the start, but I got the fragrant citrus right away. The taste was actually even better because the grapefruity citrus was balanced by a little hoppy bite on the backside, plus whatever mysterious component that contributes to dankness. I had this on a sweltering Midwestern summer afternoon, and boy did it hit the spot.

I'm trying this beer off the tapper at the brewery as part of a four sample flight. It poured a hazy golden with thin white head that is leave some lace. The scent had tropical fruit notes. The taste was nicely balanced and easy to drink with semi sweet malt base with tropical fruit and a spice blend. The mouthfeel was lighter in body with good carbonation. Overall its a great beer.

16oz can, undated, poured into a 16oz tumbler glass.

The beer pours a bright golden color, honey and amber hues, very hazy and cloudy with a foamy white head, good height, excellent retention and lacing. The aroma is very nice, assertive green raw hop, citrus peel, pine, dank weed, tropical fruits and citrus emerge as it warms, lightly floral with plenty of dough, mineral water and sweet yeast. The flavors are good, bitter pine, earthy and green, grapefruit peel, tangy citrus juice, bright tropical fruit punch, lightly floral, plenty of dough and sweet yeast with lingering fusel alcohol. The mouthfeel is nice, coating and smooth, creamy heavier medium body with a dry bite at the finish.

Verdict: A nice IIPA from Modern Brewery. Pungent, fragrant, bitter, assertive, bold, perhaps a bit too aggressive booze wise but all in all, a nice big IPA that delivers on the hops. Choice Nugs for sure.
