poured from a 12oz can into a TG DBA tumbler. pours the darkest black, thick as motor oil with a little less than a finger of mocha brown foam. aromas of fudge brownies, bourbon, bourbon-soaked oak and vanilla. taste follows and the barrel is full present yet not too hot or in your face. the base imperial stout is exquisitely constructed and is complimented perfectly by the bourbon barrels. thick (and i mean thick), full mouthfeel. first beer from modern and holy shit does it pique my interest. looking forward to the rye barrel phenom.
