Purchased a four pack of cans when visiting Des Moines. Overall assessment: this is an old school IPA. Pours a hazy copper orange with a 1 centimeter head that lingers. Light pine and grapefruit smell. Taste is slightly bitter with strong bread and caramel malt backbone, with a nice citrus grapefruit zing that slips in a little pine. The hops are muted by a somewhat overbearing bready, caramely malt beer. This reminds me of an IPA I would have really enjoyed 15 years ago. It could use a cleaner malt profile and sharper hop flavor. In today’s terms, it’s a fine, yet unexceptional beer.

Poured out a clear, golden orange color with a large, tan head of foam. It smelled floral, citrusy and of bready malt. Sweet caramel maltiness with a touch of citrus bitterness.
