Feel the tropics and enjoy the burn! This high-gravity Double IPA is loaded with hoppy and citrus flavors. The nose begins with sweet and fruity mango, pineapple and grapefruit aromas, accompanied by a slight tang of alcohol. The initial sweet citrus flavors slowly blend into a dry and lingering hoppy bitterness. Australian Galaxy and Citra hops are dominant and balance well with the large addition of fresh mangos. This beer will have you dreaming of a sunny tropical beach with time to kill!

This was the second of two beers from Firetrucker that I picked up at the Hy-Vee in Osceola, Iowa a few months back. Sure, the label was top-notch and the description of this sounded interesting but in the end, this was relatively square Imperial IPA that was characteristic of the part of the country it was brewed in. No, it wasn't bad and it was easy enough to quaff, but compared to similar brews from these parts, it didn't quite measure up.
Deep copper in hue, this was topped off with one of the thickest and possibly longest-lasting head for a beer that I've reviewed on here. Tons of floaties were in this as I was quite disappointed by their presence. Exotic fruit, booze, and dankness were in the nose as a bit of deep mango rind, fruit patch, and urine (once again) were on the palate. Grapefruit and pineapple were underneath everything although the heavy-handed nature of this beer drowned out their better attributes. This was just a tad too strong for me in too any aspects, although the alcohol was on par with everything else going on here.
Born on 2/7 of this year, this should have held up better as the first cracking of this back in May didn't give me a better impression. While not the worst take on the style that I've had, this left too much to be desired as the Galaxy was much more present than the Citra. Have it once if you live in the Hawkeye State, or want the label like yours truly!

Born 04/20/22. It poured a musician's three-finger head in a Gordon Biersch Maibock glass, made for its Maibock release. The glass holds a pint comfortably. Even this one DIPA with its lingering head.
The nose has more of a sweet maltness than mango or citrus. The consistency is a medium feel.
The flavor is mango with a malt underpinning.
The finish. The finish is a little grassy and a little danky and very enjoyable.

Pours a dark golden color. 1 finger slightly off white head. Retention is good. Decent lacing on the glass.
The nose has a decent hop aroma. Considering the name, it is a tropical aroma. Lots of mango. Some grapefruit. Not too strong, but not bad.
Taste - There's a good tropical feel here. Mango, pineapple, and some grapefruit.
The body is decent, and full. The hops do linger.
A good IPA, The one I'm trying is 2 months old, but it is still good, with a lot of hops.

Very good IPA. From the name, I would have expected more citrus flavors, it's there but subtle at least compared to TG King Sue which I recently had and absolutely loved. This is pretty good though, would have this again for sure !
Edit: Not sure why but gave me headache after every one. While it tastes good, probably won't have this again.

Excellent this time of year. Or, pretty much any time if year. The mango is sleepy but the deliciousness, is not. Recommended.

The nose is filled with tropical aromas: mango, pineapple, and grapefruit. Its sweet flavors finish with a very pleasant hoppy bitterness. Moderate alcohol warmth. Fresh mangos linger well after the last swallow.
