BOTTLE gifted to me by Kate and Vince - thanks!
"Bourbon barrel aged Belgian style ale." No ABV listed. Brewed with passion fruit and hibiscus tea.
Bourbon barrel vanillin is quite overt here. Not getting much in terms of hibiscus or tea like flavour, but there's a bit of passionfruit present.
Acidic. A bit tannic. Well carbonated for a barrel aged ale.
It's an enjoyable brew, but the vanilla-forward bourbon flavours and tropical-leaning fruity flavours don't really fit neatly into the Belgian ale schema.
A likable beer from Scorched Earth, but a bit scattered.

No date stamped on this can. I can't believe the store kept it 30 month past the last BA review, but unfortunately this can tastes that old. So, it is not fair for me to review it. Of the five I've had from Scorched Earth, I have yet to rate one even close to the average. Best to move on.
