500 ml bottle into a flute glass. Had 12/31/17.
Gusher. Pours a medium amber color, mostly clear. Once it settled down, about a half inch head with some foamy lacing. Smells tart, a little sour. Aromas of cherries, malt, wine, oak, light smoke. The taste is cherries, malt, salt- more as it warms, wine, oak. Not noticeably tart or sour. Smooth, a decent body for the style, well carbonated, not counting the beginning.
This was a little disappointing and I’ve loved everything else I’ve tried from these guys. Not very complex for the style and lacks intensity in the flavor. I’m sure the gushing didn’t help. The smoked salt was a nice addition and really added to the flavor.
