A hoppy full-flavored ale similar to an American IPA in hop aroma and flavor, but without the perceived bitterness. Mexican Key limes have been added to the brewing process to accentuate the citrusy aroma from the American hops while balancing the bitterness with the sweetness of the limes. Lime peel and leaves are added to the boil to create a more complex citrus character. This a new, inventive style of beer, the Mexican IPA.

This was a very mediocre style of IPA. Copper in color, decent head, mediocre bland aroma of what you expect from a neighborhood IPA. Taste was the same, hoppy and tasting like an IPA.
Sorry TBR, if you say there are limes added in the brewing process and are told the drinker is supposed to pick up on the citrus flavors, it better well be there. Otherwise you are getting ding-ed for points.
And certainly don't say some BS about inventing a style...

Poured into a snifter from Crowler. Pour is a copper, dark orange hue. Big bubbled lacing, nice frothy head. Aroma of pine, sweet malt with hints of grapefruit and peppery back end. Taste is pine foward with hints of sweet malt. Mouthfeel is moderately thin, medium carbonation. Nice easy drinker, very one dimensional.

I bought this for the Key Lime, mostly. I expected a little more citrus, but it was ok, nonetheless. Smooth and not classicly IPA bitter.... I'm going to buy another growler for reassessment.
