Lone Star Taps & Caps

 

Whenever I visit Dallas, this is the first place I go for great fresh beer. They consistently have the best selection which fortunately for me, leans toward IPAs and DIPAs. And then there's the service. Rick and the team are amazing. After our most recent visit, I reached out to purchase a gift card for our friends we stayed with. It got lost in the mail, but Rick personally over-nighted another card so I could get it to our friends. He truly went above and beyond the call of duty. If you want the best craft beer with a personal touch, this is the place to go!

Excellent service with a well-informed staff. My only complaints are: 1) the place is pretty small so seating can be an issue, and 2) they have too many IPA's on staff (I can't stand the stuff, please don't crucify me) and not enough Stouts and Porters, though I do genuinely appreciate the selections they offer. Lone Star has their own microbrewery and everything I've tried from them so far has been top quality. Despite the venue being small, I always have a great time and the atmosphere is bustling and cozy. It's a growler pub, so you can grab 16 ounce, 32 ounce, 64 ounce, and 1 gallon servings to go. This is my new favorite brew pub in my area and I'd recommend the place to my own grandmother without a second thought.

 

 

 

the other reviews so far are "Right on": efficient and knowledgeable staff. 50 taps for growlers, pints, flights or tasters. Frequent rotation, good selection. Very Texas-centric with the selection but other craft breweries represented as well. Occasional import tap. One update: they do not sell bottles any more. I rated vibe as so-so because there it is very plain inside...very little character but it is not "negative" at all.

 

Great choices to fill growler or grab a glass. Service was genuine and tried to be helpful. They have a good selection of "lesser known" Texas craft like Cobra, Oasis and others. Dawn of the Dank on tap! win.

Great place for a fill and a flight. Service is fast and friendly and knowledgable. Big, always rotating selection. Kinda bright and bland inside, but still a top notch place.

Place has 50 beers on draft and offers growler fills. One of a handful of places like this in Dallas. They have a cool tap list board that has pricing and an indicator of how much beer is left in the keg which is pretty awesome. They also have several coolers in the back for bottle purchases. Seating is limited.

Overall, they have a diverse selection and prices are reasonable. If looking for a growler fill and live in North Dallas, this is your place.
