Highly recommend the canned version, there's some great art there. Smooth, with a little bitterness & a nice mouthfeel after the fact. I usually prefer darker beers, but I would drink this again. If you're in the area try it.

Had the draft and fresh from the can. I prefer the canned version. Nice color, smooth with no bitter bite at the end. Head didn't form during pour as I expected but overall good beer for the weekend.

I don't ever rate overall massively lower than the others. But I did this intentionally. I've had this beer at three different places in one week and have had three different beers. So, this review is of the one I had last. This particular version had a strong berry flavor and aroma:blackberries and currents. Clear gold color. White head. Slightly roasty finish at the end. Hops minimal.

Fat Point Brewery makes great beer overall. The Big Boca Ale is great starting point if its your first time trying one of their beers or if your just starting to get into local or microbrews

16oz tallboy can, sample from brewery.

Good froth on top, great clarity shows off the tawny color. Big malt nose of toasted and caramel malt, hit of herbal hop as well. Clean grainy palate, toasty with a bready tone throughout. Hint of caramel pushes up against the grassy hop flavor. Balanced and drinkable. Lots of flavor for this style of beer. Brewers clearly have an understanding of the style.

Not sure why the low ratings on this one. It has lots of flavor and I have had a lot of beer in my life. I could drink this all day. It is pretty solid, maybe not special but certainly better than the ratings indicate. Maybe the hops are throwing people off. They don't expect a flavorful beer for a common. I pity them.

I live in the city next door and happened upon some 16 oz cans at the gas station. Punta Gorda isn't the most upscale place lol so didn't know what to expect. Maybe I'm a little bias in my rating, but this beer was an interesting experience. At first its kinda funky and you get SLAPPED in the face with a huge hit of hops. I had already drank a bottle of wine beforehand so don't know how that affected things. Normally this overpoweringly excessive hops would be off putting, but the flavor actually fizzes all the way out and there's no bad aftertaste at all. So it was unique to me. They must have put as much or more hops as an IPA but not much sugar, because its a 5.1% alcohol beer. Worth a try now and again I would say.
