Not your typical barleywine (maybe that's why it doesn't have a unique name).
Arrives as a snifter full of dark amber with a reddish tint. Tan head and sheets of lace.
Smell is fairly faint and reminiscent of a DIPA. Hops is really the only noticeable aroma.
Taste continues the DIPA theme. Malt Is present but the hops relegate It to second place. Some nut and caramel notes but they're faint.
Lightly warming with a dry middle and finish. 10.5 % hides reasonably well at first but is found after the swallow and after warming.
All told, a good beer but off style a decent amount and that's the way I rated it.

We love reviews (150 characters or more)! Check out: How to Review a Beer. You don't need to get fancy. Drop some thoughts on the beer's attributes (look, smell, taste, feel) plus your overall impression. Something that backs up your rating and helps others. Thanks!
