Review from BA Mag Issue #120 ( Jan 2017 )

Savory, Peppery, Warming, Bizarre
Perhaps the most savory beer I have had to date. You’d think this big Imperial Stout aged in Buffalo Trace barrels would lend something on the sweeter side to the palate. Nope. The addition of white peppercorn is quite dominant in this ale. It’s earthy and spicy with just enough Imperial Stout character to keep everything in check. The barrel aged character does well with the peppercorn’s earthy side. More a sharing and pairing beer overall, though it does start to grow on me when it warms up a bit. [Jason]
