my first from this lager focused brewery, and its a pretty good one. dry hopped rather aggressively with some new world varietals, which give it a really bright fruity aromatic on top of the lager yeast, which is light but bready and stereotypical. the malt base is impossibly light, the beer is almost clear, barely yellow in the light, with a tall head on it. my issue with this one is that the hops dont come through past the nose. it smells to bright and hoppy, like an india pale lager, but the hops never really do much in the taste. i suppose there is a little bitterness and some flavor on top of the pale malt base, but i want to taste the hops i smell here and i dont. hints of citrus in the finish, maybe lime, helps cut through the lager yeast, making it seem even lighter than it already is, but this is a little bland on the whole. its well made beer, but might need a couple of tweaks (more hops!), to make it as good as it smells like it should be. cool to taste some of these really small timey brews while i was in nashville. very thankful for the opportunity.
