Taster at brewery. Dark, clear brown pour, a few stray bubbles. Roasty, ashy aroma, campfire. Taste is roasty malts, smoky notes and mild sweetness. Fast finish.

Served on tap in a pint glass
Appearance – The beer is served a deep brown, almost pitch black color with a one finger of tan colored head. The head fades very fast and leaves almost no lace on the sides of the glass.
Smell – The aroma of the beer is quite heavy of a roasted malt smell and is mixed with some smells of cocoa as well. Along with the darker aromas are some sweeter smells with some caramel and vanilla as well as a little as a bit of a darker fruit smell of cherry and raisin.
Taste – The taste begins roasted malt flavor mixed with a bit of a caramel and a little bit of a more coffee like flavor. The coffee increases as the taste advances, but never gets too strong. Along with the increase in the coffee comes some lighter cocoa notes and a little bit of caramel sweetness. The roasted flavors and the coffee increase however as the taste advances with a bit of an earthy flavor coming to the tongue at the very end, leaving a slightly drier and nicely roasty flavor to linger on the tongue.
Mouthfeel – The body of the beer is on the more moderate to slightly thinner side with a carbonation level that was on the average side. A little lower carbonation and a little thicker body may have been slightly more appropriate, but overall it was OK for the flavor profile of the brew.
Overall – A rather decent porter overall. It was slightly more roasty flavor and rather easy drinking. Not a bad one to try if you get a chance.
