Served on tap in a pint glass
Appearance – The beer is served a lighter amber-orange color with a small fizzy white head. The head fades rather fast, leaving just a moderate level of white foamy lace on the sides of the glass.
Smell- The aroma is mostly of a caramel smell mixed with a little bit of a bready aroma. Some light hoppy notes of pine and earth are there as well, but these are rather light overall.
Taste – The taste begins with a bit of a roasted bready flavor with a decent sum of caramel upfront. This amber taste creates a base flavor for the brew with it remaining constant throughout with it just fading a bit as the taste moves to the end. All the while a nice hoppiness starts to develop on the tongue. The flavors are mainly of an earthy and piney nature, but some light citrus tastes are there as well. In the end the blend of hops get moderately strong, and in the end, leaves a nice blend of a hoppy and standard amber ale flavor to linger on the tongue.
Mouthfeel – The body of the beer is on medium side with a carbonation level that is rather average to slightly higher. For the mix of hop and amber flavors the feel is great and creates an easy drinking, but still hop accentuating and flavorful feel.
Overall – This was a very nicely done amber. It was sorta like an amber/light IPA hybrid. I would certainly come to this one again.
