Served on tap in a pint glass
Appearance – The beer is served a hazed golden amber color with a one finger head of billowy white foam. The head has a decent level of retention, slowly fading over time to leave a good level of fizzy looking lace on the sides of the glass.
Smell – The aroma is very light overall, with it consisting mostly of a light bready and cracker nature. Along with these smells are a hint of grass and a little bit of hay.
Taste – The taste begins with a drier bready and cracker taste with a hint of a hay flavor and a light sweeter citrus smell. As the taste moves on some grass and herb come to the tongue along with a lessening of some of the citrus sweet. Toward the end, the herbal tastes ramp it up, and are met with a little bit of a hay and a yeasty taste to leave one with a rather drier, but somewhat malty and lightly hopped taste to linger on the tongue.
Mouthfeel – The body of the beer is much heavier then I was anticipating for a 4.8 % abv brew with a carbonation level that was one the slightly lower side. For the bready tastes the thicker body was quite nice, but overall a little bit more carbonation would have suited the beer slightly better, making it more easy drinking. All in all, the feel was decent.
Overall – Nothing too special, but still overall a rather easy drinking and enjoyable brew. It at least deserved a one to in my opinion.
