Bought two 12 ounce cans from Beer Drop and I will drink the second with relish.
I am only the second review of 19 ratings. So perhaps a comment first on the 3.9 average rating. If it had more ratings, Colorado Red would be in BA's Top 50 for this style. Since I've had five of those Top 50, I'd say this would be a fair landing next year for Colorado Red. It is pretty and good.
It actually Looks great: a firm head, a lasting foam, a delicate lace and a clear, ruby... all suitable on a beautiful autumn day with a red maple turning as the frame for my window. Smells are mostly malt. Tastes introduce hops in the attack and become dominant mid-palate and through the finish... not unlike the IPA-lick-alikes common to this style. Fall refreshing and medium-mouthed, the hop level makes this malt-head glad this was only a 12 ounce can and not 16 (as Beer Drop prefers to promote.)
For my micro-review... I note that Snowbank co-exists in the same town as two giant crafters and former pioneers (New Belgium and Odell) and the area has more than a few micros and wannabes to compete with. As an eight year old in crafter's paradise, Snowbank has done well; but I'd like to see them tell their story better on their website.

Aroma of caramel, dark malts, molasses, and a hint of yeast. Taste has a rich malt background- chocolate, bread, and caramel. There is a citrusy and spicy hop profile that brightens things up. Sweet start, bitter finish. A great hoppy red.
