Moderate head settles to a dense, persistent cap. Good lace. Slightly hazed gold colour. Handsome. Lemon and grass on the nose, plus something oddly funky. That odd funk goes to an off funk taste. I think this can is off as it smells of veggies and ghee. Drain pour and a revisit I think. Later.

Very pale, Berliner Weiss-like
Faint lemon/citrus/grass aroma
Ultra light body, bitter and astringent
Prickly carbonation, thin
Overall...disappointing. Dozens upon dozens of finer pilsners at lcbo. 3.40 is a premium price for a pedestrian pils.

Pours a pale gold with a lovely fluffy 3 finger head. Retention is quite good and some lacing.
Smell is sweet malts with hints of stone fruit. There is an earthy or grassy quality that comes in as well.
Taste loses the sweetness from the nose. There is a bitterness from the hops that comes in, can't put my finger on the accompanying taste. End of the palate is bittersweet with fruit stone coming across.
Feel is light and well carbonated. Finish is slightly bitter and there is a quick fade.
I think the additional dry hopping makes a difference to this beer. It could have been another utility pilsner, but that extra hop bite elevates a little.

Has an IPAish taste to it. Very hazy and a huge fluffy head that laces the glass nicely.

Tallboy from the LCBO; canned Oct 29 2018 and served slightly chilled. Listed at 4.6%.
Pours pale gold; its complexion is relatively clear, though flecks of sediment do haze the visuals up a tad. One finger of bubbly, foamy white head lasts for a couple minutes before falling apart entirely, with its remnants including a thin collar and an even ring of lace. Its aroma reminds me of clipped grass, hay and grain husks, with vague hints of stone fruit and/or canned peach.
Pretty tasty, but not what I'd call a traditional pils; it does feature a pleasant backbone of grainy, crackery malt sweetness, but the lemon-limey citrus peel and stone fruit notes that come through by mid-sip are a bit more North American in tone. The flavours take on a more grassy, leafy feel towards the back end, with a bit of an odd cardboard-y, grain husk note coming through in the aftertaste - it's not particularly repelling, but it's a sign that this is just a pretender compared to the upper tier German exports. Light in body, with lively carbonation that results in a refreshing, crisp mouthfeel. One major compliment I'm compelled to append to the end of this review is that I found this beer unbelievably easy to guzzle back - and that's one of the most important traits for this sort of brew to have.
Final Grade: 3.74, a B grade. Brimstone's Punk Rock Pilsner didn't blow me away or anything, but I have no intention of arguing that it's anything other than a solid pale lager. The hops do come off a bit fruitier than you'd expect for a typical German pilsener, making this more of a German-North American hybrid lager than anything else. If that sounds up your alley, don't hesitate to pick this one up - I'm sure I'll be returning to it once in a while.
