This jet black liquid yields a small beige head on top. With a double digit alcohol percentage, I expected a big fat beer. That is exactly what I got. Its aroma is powerful, boozy, and a lot like chocolate syrup. No surprise, the taste is strong as well. The beer is very thick, and along with the chocolate notes, a big burst of piney hops with strong bitterness wrestles the malty and boozy aspects, but it may have been too successful. A note of licorice is noticed too. Thick bodied it is, reminding me a lot of a milkshake with its feel. Angry Dave is a solid imperial oatmeal stout, but one I would only want in certain situations (with food, cool weather).
