From tasting notes 6/22/21
Had poured from the can at Artifex Brewing Co in San Clemente, CA

Appearance - Poured from a can into a standard pint, hazy and the color of orange juice with an off-white, half finger width head that displays fair retention before dying to a thin, lightly broken layer of suds, thickening into a ring where the surface meets the glass. Good lacing, with thin sheeting, broken webbing, lines and small spotting.

Smell - Prominent citrus and pineapple aroma. Some green leafiness. Light tropical notes.

Taste - Strong, juicy citrus and tropical goodness. Orange, grapefruit, pineapple, lesser cream and mango, and some piney character. Malty flavor is buried but adds a trace of bready sweetness. Finish lingers bright and tropical, with slight hop burn.

Mouthfeel - On the fuller side of medium-bodied with fair carbonation. Definite creaminess on the texture. Dry finish.

Overall - Tasty DIPA. A bit of hop burn, but not too bad. Should smooth out in another week or two.

Hazy yellow brew with clouds of white foam in the wheat beer goblet. It’s another massively fruity hop monster from Artifex. Actually it’s a malt bomb with a quite sugary taste. The lactose is quite unnecessary with all the malt. And really it should be in the New England category with the wheat and oats contributing the slippery feel.

Flavors of orange with pineapple and it smells like bananas to complete the scene. Big aromas of papaya with canned peaches in the nose. Overall it’s too sweet and sticky but it avoids the sludgy end of the NE spectrum. An interesting one to sip. From the 16 oz can purchased at the brewery tasting room.
