The Dark Is Rising

Clear and very dark; more black than brown. Lots of beige foam in the Bacchus .25 litre glass. Pleasant nose of dark grain and chocolate. Malty to start with some welcome sweetness. Dark roasted malt with some bitterness but minus the sour charred taste. Dark grainy flavor, some cocoa, a hint of raisins, and even a tangy finish. Overall this is very smooth and hugely flavorful, but rather bitter after some sipping. It's a winner for a dark brew with a moderate alcohol content. From the 32 oz crowler can purchased at the Brewery tasting room.
