A unique American style brown ale designed to be exceptionally drinkable. Simplicity is key for drinkability, and the Beacon Brown keeps it that way with Pale Ale malt and Roast barley providing rich flavors of roasted malt, and nuts. An addition of oats lends a mellow creaminess which smooths the edges and keeps you reaching for another. This highly approachable brew is perfect for the year’s cooler months.

Enjoyed on tap at the brewery yesterday and now reviewed from a crowler.
Typical brown ale presentation, fully hazed, minor cap and minimal mini spots of lacing left on the glass.
Soft n subtle dark bready malts on the sniff.
Tasty, soft and smooth in the mouth, dark malts, soft toffee and a load of milk chocolate all noted. Worthy brown ale.

Reviewed from notes. The appearance was a semi-dark murky brown color with a finger’s worth of white foamy head that fell off at a good pace. Mild stringy lace. The aroma centered around some soft sweet roasted nuts, somewhat like pecans, then a nice caramel/toffee base. Light earthiness at the end. The flavor leaned towards the malts fairly nice, nice sweet malt. Roastiness sat a bit further back touching down into a nice blend of the roast to sweet in the aftertaste and riding on into the finish. On the palate, this one sat about a light to medium on the body with a fair sessionability about it. Good carbonation. ABV felt good. Overall, excellent brown ale worthy of having again.

Appearance: amber in color with a 1" head that fell quickly to a surface foam.
Smell: very little aroma as some maltiness is all you can detect.
Taste: dark bread, hints of brown sugar, and some dark fruit sweetness is balanced with a mild bitterness.
Mouthfeel: medium bodied beer. Lightly crisp throughout.
Overall: a decent brown ale that is rather easy to drink. You can drink a few of these in a session.
