330ml bottle poured into a BB teku glass.

Pitch black as a showcase, it tops up with very thick fluffy brown head that withstands with excellent retention before slowly subsiding to an eternal foamy crown and leaving plenty of sticky lacing here and there.

In a nose, I get significant spicy rye, caramel, biscuit, some toasted and roasted, yet some fruity Saison yeast as well as some musty dark bread.

Spicy rye also dominates the taste buds. Then it becomes malty with its caramel, toasted and roasted, and biscuit together with some Saison yeast of mild fruitiness but it is not funky or musty. The end and aftertaste is lasting with bitterness from roasted and toasted as well as hop together with a slight touch of dry alcohol.

Medium body with smooth mouthfeel and some lively crisp carbonation, the feeling is crisp, quite refreshing, and dry.

It doesn't matter whether it is Black Saison or Rye beer. Just enjoy it.

Pours dark charcoal almost black into a tulip glass from a bottle. The beige/white head is one-two fingers high with close bubbles.

Aroma is smoky rye, some mild chicory and wheat notes. Flavour is more of the same with that dominant black rye rich flavour balanced out with some sweetness from the saison elements. There is some red grape in there, apple, orange zest a little tartness and some ashen notes which gives a really nice mixture of flavours.

Feel is moderate and creamy. Overall I think this is a really nice well balanced beer.
