16oz can. No dating information found.
Ruby brown colored body. One finger of tan head eventually settles back to and interrupted cap and ring. No lacing.
Aroma is malts which smell like toasted bread and chocolate.
Taste is toasted bread, chocolate, and raisin/prunes. All continue into the aftertaste.
Medium mouth feel, with a bit of syrup. Induces tongue numbness. Very good carbonation.
Sweet brew, and not bitter.

The aroma is dark, roasted malts predominately, with some hints of caramel and dark fruits, but only hints.

Appearance is almost (but not quite) opaque, deep dark ruby with a backlight. 1/2 inch tan head with a thick and creamy appearance, fading quickly but leaving thick lacing behind. Before long, it is a ring with scattered bubble islands, leaving no lacing save a few scattered dots.

The flavor is, like the aroma, dominated by roasted malts, with a bitterness from the dark malts, like a bitter coffee. The middle retains the domnination by the roasty flavors, but starts to pick up some floral, which becomes a bit more assertive toward the finish, resulting in an almost light finish and aftertaste. This is a very interesting beer, but IDK if it is actually a doppelbock. This beer is malty and as dark as a stout, and the roasted malts are prominent over everything else.

Mouth feel is light.

Overall, this is an interesting beer, but it's overdone on the roastiness. I am enjoying this and I'm glad to have bought it. But, I doubt I'll buy it again.

Nice dopplebock with a pretty evident chocolate flavor. There's some light caramel as well. Some bready notes but lacks the melanoidins in the better versions.

Still, this is pretty solid with additional dark fruits notes of plums and black cherries. Sweet but not cloying. Medium to light carbonation makes this pretty easy to drink..

Dark brown color with ruby highlights and a nice creamy chocolate colored head.

Tough to find local doppelbocks and this is a good one. I'd definitely buy this in the future.

Xuul Doppelbock. 8% Alc./Vol.

Clear, rich, caramel brown, slim white head.

In the nose: sweet and malty, nicely balanced, low bitterness. Nothing but nice.

In the mouth: Sweet and smooth. Sleek and supple. Big caramel malt. Tasty as heck. Clean and lovely. Personally, I like it. It is, and I know this hasn't caught on yet but I still keep trying, ....yum-a-dum-dum!

Feb. 2021 update: i bought a 4 pack of 16oz cans. It has more chocolate than 3 years ago

Canned on 10/12/17, Drank 12/17/17, 32 oz can 8.0% ABV. Beautiful beer, dark amber or light brown. Has a massive dark amber fine head that dissipates rather quickly leaving lots a lacing. Flavor is some caramel with a little dark fruit , micro amounts of roast a very smooth beer. ABV is very well hidden.

Update 2/13/18. I revisited this beer and pickup a fresher crowler from the early Feb 2018 batch. About the only difference I notice is slightly more dark fruit just after the start, and maybe some chocolate on the finish.
