Pours a nice amber color. 1 finger slightly off white head. Head retention is poor. No lacing on the glass.
The nose has a bit of apple on it. A hint of vanilla. Maybe a bit of nutmeg, or cinnamon.
Taste - Apple is pretty strong. Slightly sour. Vanilla mixed in with some lactose. Some cinnamon on the backside.
Crisp feeling. Decent body. Somewhat "dry".
A tasty, and easy drinking sour ale.

This beer pours a clear pale amber with a smallish head. The aroma is a odd mix - the cinnamon hits first, then the sour note, kind of sour apple, with a touch of cheesy butyric acid, clove, and apple skin. The flavor is dominate by a sour apple juice character, which has a rather mild demeanor, with hints of cinnamon and clove, and a pastry crust flavor right at the end. The mouthfeel is fairly light with weak carbonation. Overall this is a bit of an odd one - the apple juice characteristic is just a rather week feel, the cinnamon just feel disjointed, and the lactose and vanilla form an overly sweet crust flavor that is just not cohesive. I would have to say this is a miss for me.

5.5 % ABV. Oliphant Brewing, Somerset, WI.

Clear, amber-hued, slim white head.

In the nose: Fruit, spice, sour. Warm and lively.

In the mouth: Cool, but hot. Big spice and apple flavor from the get-go. A little cinnamon? Tart and tasty. Minor hops. Medium malt. Lean, clean, light and delightful. Beautiful blend. Tart and refreshing. I'm liking this.
