Received from Victory_Sabre1973 in NBW BIF #16
Poured deep amber with very little manilla colored head and no lacing.
Tis the nature of barrel aged beer I guess.
The aroma was strong enough for me to smell and that’s saying something. Nice malts and a touch of bourbon seemed to be what I was getting.
The taste, whoa- rather like a concentrated Festbier than a BA one. All the flavors, just more intense. Sweet malts, a touch of biscuits and a little spice, nicely balanced.
I let some warm up a little to see what happens and that’s when the bourbon showed up. It’s not bad, but the balance version when it was cold was better.
The feel was more viscous than a typical Festbier, but that’s to be expected. Still easy quaffing.
OA, tasty beer, glad I got to try it!

Note - There's a listing for a Bourbon Barrel-Aged Marzen. This is a different beer from that, because it was also on sale when I picked this one up.
Very dark amber pour with a tan head - 1 finger. The retention is good, and the head clings to the glass as it dissipates.
Off the chart aroma. Tons of caramel, bread/biscuit, toffee, oak and dark fruit (raisin, plum).
Flavor is so powerful, and strong. I get caramel and toffee right away. The bourbon barrel hits on the back. Oak, and dark fruit hit and hit hard, and linger in my palate.
Thick, full and rich body. It has a slightly boozy feeling from the barrel aging.
This is a solid and well made beer. I highly recommend.
